Getting Started

E-mail Print

Importing My Images (or movie clips)

In the Start >> All Programs - You should see the following program listed. (If you don't you'll need to use "Add programs" from the control panel.)

Click the menu to open the program.

After grinding away for a short time the application will open and you should see the following.

If you see a different layout (you can work with simplified timeline or story board)

Then using the View pulldown change to the following settings.

image01

So, lets assume that the program is loaded and has open correctly! And it now shows the following interface.

If it hasn't then you had better drop me an email!

Lets get some "stuff" into this! Select the Collections.

image12

Using the File pulldown select the "Import into ..."

image13

Browse (as normal) to your folder where you have all the video clips and stills you are going to be using.

image14

Select the first one and then hold down the <<Shift>> and select the last file in your list.

image15

Once you have selected the files you want to "import" click the Import key at the bottom.

Once again we sit and wait as it "grinds" away.

After a few minutes you'll see you still photo's appear in the collections bin and new bins added for each video clip.

image16

Have a look and see where everything is.

image17

Now would be a good time to save our "new" project.

So, using the File >> Save Project As

image19

Save the new project in the same directory as your clips. (keeps thing nicely together!)

Last bit on this page.

If you look at Tools >> Options and the Advanced tab

image20

Here you can change how long you want your still photographs to appear for.

5 seconds is normally a good time but if you are going to add a large number you might want to bring this down a little.

100 photographs X 5 seconds each = 8.4 minutes long video.

Good News, the grunt work is over!

Move on to the Editing Video section.
